Common reasons
When this error occurs, Facebook does not disclose any admission-related details or when the restriction will be lifted. The following are common reasons summarized for pages that have been blocked:
24-hour rule: You may only send promotional-related messages within 24 hours after a user initiates a conversation with your Page.
Reported as spam or blocked: Your messages are frequently reported as spam by users or blocked above a certain ratio.
High frequency sending: You sent a large number of messages in a short period of time, which may be considered spam behavior https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/send-messages/high-mps/.
Violation of policies or terms: Failing to comply with Messenger's platform policies and terms of service may also result in your Page being blocked https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/policy/policy-overview/?translation
Misclassification of message content: Facebook may use algorithms and machine learning to monitor and detect potential violations to ensure users on the platform follow community standards and policies. However, this detection system is not perfect and may sometimes misjudge, resulting in compliant users being restricted or blocked from certain features.
Please note that if you simultaneously use other third-party services such as ManyChat, Zendesk, etc. to send a large volume of marketing or promotional messages, or engage in other violations that cause Facebook to take blocking actions, it may affect other third-party applications connected to your Page, including FIRST LINE. In that case, you may be temporarily unable to send messages.
How to handle it
If your Facebook Page is blocked or restricted, you can take the following steps to try to unlock it:
Self-check: First, carefully review your recent posts and sent messages. Ensure that these contents comply with Facebook's advertising guidelines https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads and the Messenger Platform policies https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/policy/policy-overview/?translation. If you are sure your content did not violate the rules, then the problem may lie elsewhere.
Contact Facebook support: Go to your Facebook account settings and select "Support Inbox" under "Help & Support". There, you can view your violation appeals. Usually, this section will provide specific reasons why your Page was blocked or restricted. Based on the provided reasons, you can submit a detailed appeal.
Follow appeal guidelines: When you submit an appeal, Facebook will provide you with guidance on how to appeal or prove that you have complied with platform requirements. Please follow these suggestions and guidelines and provide the required supporting evidence.
Be patient: Facebook may need some time to review your appeal and the provided materials, so please be patient during this period. Once the review is complete, Facebook will notify you whether your appeal was accepted and what the next steps are.
