Set up Facebook and Instagram

Requirements

  1. Make sure your Instagram is a "Business Account". See https://help.instagram.com/502981923235522 .

  2. Your Instagram account needs to be connected to the corresponding Facebook Page. See: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/connect-instgram-to-page .

  3. You must have administrator rights for this account and the Facebook Page.

Then in Facebook Business Manager, ensure Instagram is connected to your account:

  1. Click the menu "Accounts", then click the "Instagram Accounts" item.

  2. Then link your Instagram account to your Facebook Page.

  • Open your Instagram app.

  • Go to "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Messages" according to the path.

  • Then under "Connected Tools" below, enable "Allow message features."

  1. Go to the "Manage" item in the left menu.

  2. Click the "Instagram" interface under "Channels."

  3. Then click the "Link Instagram Business Account" button.

  4. A Facebook login and settings page will open.

  5. Check the business account you need and the corresponding Facebook Page.

Troubleshooting

I changed the password

If you changed your password, you need to relink FIRST LINE and Instagram followingthe steps above.

Unable to receive messages

For certain reasons, authorizations or features may become invalid for the following reasons, and once invalidated it will affect the integration with FIRST LINE:

  1. The authorized administrator changed the password.

  2. The authorized administrator enabled two-factor authentication.

  3. Meta detected abnormal behavior on the account and revoked authorization or data transfer for security reasons.

Please confirm the required conditions below, then try againIntegration stepsReauthorize:

  1. Your Instagram needs to be aBusiness Accountto integrate.

  2. Your IG account is connected to a Facebook Page.

  3. Enable "Allow message features."

  4. The authorized Facebook account needs to have administrator rights for the corresponding Page.

If you still cannot receive messages, try the following:

  1. Go to the connected Facebook Page and click "Settings", then go to the "Advanced Messaging" item.

  1. Click the app settings button linked to "FIRST LINE" to remove it.

  2. After removing it, return to the above steps to re-link the Facebook Page or Instagram business account.
