Overview
WhatsApp Business API was released at the end of 2017 and must be provided by a WhatsApp Global Business Solution Provider. The provider will help you manage your company's WhatsApp business account. We chose Twilio to help medium and large business partners handle customer issues.
According to official specifications, you need topurchase a virtual phone numberin order to integrate with WhatsApp.
And you mustcomply with WhatsApp Commerce Policy regulations, in addition, Twilio charges extra for each message; each sent/received message is about $0.005 USD. Please refer to Twilio pricing.

Buy a phone number
First, register as a member on Twilio's official site and purchase a phone number; there are no restrictions on country or region.

After purchasing the phone number, you can fill out the Twilio WhatsApp application
To apply for WhatsApp Business API eligibility, you need to have a Facebook Business Manager ID to grant authorization. You can use https://business.facebook.com/settings to view the relevant information.

After applying for Twilio WhatsApp,it takes some time to verify the information you provided. You can contact Twilio support to speed up the process.
Fill in business information
After passing Twilio verification ๐, you must continue to fill in business information so that the relevant details can be displayed on WhatsApp.Name.
Go to Twilio's Console page and click WhatsApp Sender to register and add it.

YouThe information you fill in needs to be the same as the information on Facebook Business,and must comply with WhatsApp'snaming rulesAfter submitting the application data, Twilio will review and set up your business information within 5 to 10 business days.
Fill in the information in FIRST LINE
When your Twilio information is complete, you can start setting up customer service. In the management tools, choose Channels and select WhatsApp to start adding related information.

After all required information is completed, you will receive a webhook URL in thesystem; copy this URL, which will be used in the final step with Twilio.

Finally, we need you to set the Webhook URL in Twilio so that we can receive messages from WhatsApp.

Start talking with customers ๐
You can now be ready to contact customers, but WhatsApp has sending/receiving restrictions on messages, so be sure to understand the rules.
If the last conversation with a customer was more than 24 hours ago, you cannot proactively send messages to the customer; you must send via Template Messages .
Template Messages cannot be used for sales or promotional purposes, and different fees apply depending on the sending country or region.
Template Messages must be approved by Twilio before they can be sent; the review time is about 1 to 3 days.
In addition to text messages, you can also receive Images, Audio, Video, Location messages, and Documents,and among those files only PDF types are allowed to be received.
