How does WhatsApp API charge?

On October 10, 2024, Meta announced a major update to the charging model for the WhatsApp Business Platform, aiming to simplify merchant operations and provide more flexible solutions. The main changes are as follows:

  1. From November 1, 2024: Service conversations will be completely free.

  2. From February 1, 2025: International authentication rates will be expanded to more regions.

  3. From April 1, 2025:

    • Within 24 hours after a conversation window is opened, utility (transaction-related) template messages can be sent for free.

    • Charging is based on the sending of each template message, replacing the previous per-conversation charging model, applicable to merchants included in the first phase.

How to integrate WhatsApp API?

FIRST LINE has integrated the WhatsApp API. To activate this account, merchants must provide official documents such as business registration certificates for verification. Through a rigorous business verification process, it not only ensures the authenticity of the merchant behind the account, but also gives customers greater confidence when interacting with the business represented by the account. In addition, this account can obtain Green Tick certification, further highlighting the authority and credibility of the brand company.

Through WhatsApp Business API and FIRST LINEyou can easily achieve multiple business goals to strengthen customer service and internal operations, such as:

  1. Cross-department collaboration:Different teams and departments can handle customer inquiries simultaneously within the same backend management system, ensuring timely responses and improving team collaboration efficiency.

  2. Intelligent automated responses:With 24/7 chatbots or AI agents, automatically respond to common questions, reduce manual workload, and at the same time improve customer experience and service efficiency.

  3. Flexible permission management:Supports setting permissions for different user roles to ensure data security, and assign appropriate permissions according to job functions to achieve efficient and secure management.

  4. Data and analytics reports:View and track customer interaction data in real time, providing detailed analytical reports to help businesses formulate more precise strategies.
